Patriots media guide snapshot

Every year, the Patriots' media relations staff produces a 400-plus page guide to assist media members in covering the team. It is a challenging task.

One of the changes this year is that the media guide is moving to a more digital format, allowing it to be updated on a day-to-day basis. A printed version will still be available to media members.

The cover of the media guide often reflects the theme for that season.

For example, last year's cover was an illustration of Pat Patriot blowing out candles on a football, which reflected how the 2009 season was a celebration of the team's 50th season. In 2002, the Buffalo Bills put Drew Bledsoe on the cover of their guide, as there was excitement in Buffalo over acquiring him in a trade from New England.

This year's Patriots cover shot is of Gillette Stadium prior to a night game last season, capturing a flyover right after the National Anthem.

Simple and effective.
